Ogden Newspapers 20K Run & Walk
The Ogden Newspapers 20K Classic
Run will start at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday
May 24th. The Walk will start at 7:30
a.m. This challenging course is well
known for its changes in elevation.
The 20K Run will have prize
categories (for male and female) of
Open, Masters, Top American, Top
West Virginian, Top Ohio Valley
(County residents of Hancock, Brooke,
Ohio, Marshall, Wetzel, Tyler, Monroe,
Belmont, Guernsey, Harrison, Jefferson)
and 2-person relays (male/male,
male/female, female/female) as well
as age group categories.
Ogden Newspapers 5K Run & Walk
This race will begin at 8:15 a.m., Saturday, May 24th.
Torch Relay
Begins at 4 p.m. May 23rd in Elm Grove and traverses the
last 6 miles of the 20K course.
Ogden Tiny Tot Trot

6:45 p.m., Friday, May 23rd - Under the Wesbanco Skywalk
Ages 5 & under. Entry Fee: None
Entrants Receive: Finish Award Ribbon
Course: Last 100 yards 20K Finish
Ogden Fun Run
7:00 p.m., Friday, May 23rd - Top of Wheeling Hill,
a one mile downhill event. Non-competitive run for kids
12 and under. No prizes awarded. $7.00 entry fee
includes T-shirt. Parents are encouraged to run with
their children at no cost, or pay the $5 fee and receive
a T-Shirt.
Ogden Mile
7:15 p.m., Friday, May 23rd - Top of Wheeling Hill
Fastest mile in America...
Course record...3:39:82 (2003)
Competitive mile for ages 13-39.
Participants receive T-shirt. Prize money and trophies
presented to male and female winners as follows:
1st: $75; 2nd: $50; 3rd: $25 immediately after the race at
the Heritage Port stage.
Masters Mile
7:15 p.m., Friday, May 23rd - Top of Wheeling Hill.
Trophies and prize money will be presented in the Masters
category (40 & over) to the top 3 men and women finishers
as follows:
1st $75; 2nd $50; 3rd $25; immediately after the race at the
Heritage Port state.

General Race Information:
Water Stops
The Ogden 20K has 10 aid stations serving water, ice &
electrolytes, starting at the 1 1 ⁄ 2 mile mark. Health Care
Professionals will be located at general places along the
course. The 5K race will also have 2 aid stations.

Friday, May 23 Night Activities
Awards Ceremony:
7:45 p.m. at stage in front of Wheeling Coffee Shop.
Transportation:
Will be provid ed from the Arena to the top of
Wheeling Hill for the start of the 1 mile events.
Buses will begin at 5:45 p.m.
Packet Pick-Up:
Packets may be picked up in front of the WesBanco Arena
beginning Friday, May 23 at 5:00 P.M. & Saturday
6 a.m. to race time.
Shower facilities available at YMCA , YWCA, &
CentreTown Fitness.
(Athletes accepting prize money while in H.S. or
college will jeopardize eligibility.)
Race Timing
To confirm race time, all race participants must wear a
timing chip on a shoe. 20K & 5K walker Leaders will be
video taped during the race for rules compliance.
Ogden Newspapers 20K Classic & Parkersburg Half Marathons Participants
Participants in both the
Ogden Newspapers 20K Classic & Parkersburg Half
Marathon will receive a
special T-Shirt and be
eligible for additional
cash prizes.*
*To be received at News & Sentinel Half Marathon.
