Ogden 20K Attracts Many First Timers

Ogden Newspapers 20K Classic Run and Walk Director Robert “Scat” Scatterday was sitting in a golf cart Saturday morning, discussing the race’s finish when Donna Akers of Narrows, Va., approached him.

“It’s my first time here,” she said.

“It’s my 558th race; I’m celebrating my 59th birthday, and I came up here to do it.”

Ogden 20K Classic Activities Begin Today

Summer will be unofficially ushered in today when activities surrounding the 32nd annual Ogden Newspapers 20K Classic Run and Walk step off at various locations throughout the city.

The fun begins at 4 p.m. today, when the Torch Relay begins at the Osiris Shrine parking lot in Elm Grove.
